Wellbeing Wisdom Tiny Bites - Using Love to Beat the Blues

Are you having a kind of “blah” day? Do you have a lot of those? Do you want to shed the blues and find your passion again?

One sure-fire way is to find one thing to be in love with and milk that feeling for as long as you can. It could be the pair of shoes you’ll wear today, it could be the little flecks of gold in your eyes, it could be the feeling of the soft morning breeze moving your hair. Find one thing that lifts your spirits for just a moment, and hold on to it.

For example, this morning as I sat on the sun porch with my first cup of coffee, the air felt soft and it smelled like honey. I sat there, enjoying the fragrance and the feeling, and wondering what flower was in charge of the delightful smell. I looked, and couldn’t see blooms, and it felt like a secret between Mother Nature and me. Several times already today, I’ve remembered that magical moment and it makes me smile.

To beat the blues, be in love with something, and focus on the feeling of love and appreciation. It will feel like the world is in love with you, too.
