No, this isn’t a pep rally…or maybe it is.
Really think about who you appreciate and why you appreciate them. Give yourself a few minutes today and put these thoughts on paper. Think about family members, friends, business associates, barristas, the person who cuts your hair. Think about your 4th grade teacher, who made learning fun by infusing it with games. Think about the professor who gave you extra time and extra-credit projects until you finally grasped the concepts she was trying to teach you. Think about inventors who dreamed of electric lights, paved roads, and elevators. Think of the farmer who cared for the cows – or maybe almonds – that created the milk in your refrigerator. Think of your dentist and your veterinarian and your … well, you get the idea, right?
It’s so easy to take people and things for granted. Make a daily habit of consciously appreciating at least one person or thing in your life. Now that’s something to cheer about!
