Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

The truth is, we’re not either/or, each of us is somewhere on a continuum between the two extremes. An optimist is someone who expects a successful outcome of something. A pessimist is someone who feels that if something can go wrong, it probably will.

We get the chance to find optimism or pessimism many times each day, and most people feel either optimistic or pessimistic based on how they’ve felt about most things throughout their life.

Yep, optimism and pessimism are habits, and habits can be changed.

If you find yourself having knee-jerk negative reactions often, stop yourself as soon as you notice you’re doing it. Inside your head, laugh at this old, unhelpful habit, and intentionally find a more optimistic way of looking at whatever triggered the negativity.

Cultivating a more optimistic outlook will help you destress your life.
