Want to help your boss be a better leader? Boss them around!

OK, maybe something a little more subtle than that would be better. First, what kind of leader is yours? Poor leaders boss people around, mediocre leaders complain and play favorites, and great leaders own their mistakes and lift up their people. When you see an area of improvement for your boss, here are three things you might try:

• Share with them that you’re reading a great book on leadership skills and ask if they’ve read it or want to read your copy?
• Be responsive and enthusiastic when they get leadership right.
• Offer constructive criticism when you’re in a one-on-one situation with them.

When someone feels sincerely seen, appreciated, and uplifted by another person, they’re more willing to learn and grow.
